Wax seals are a great custom embellishment that adds elegance and style to your wedding stationery! You can add a custom wax seal to your invitation pockets, inner envelopes, place cards, menus, and other wedding stationery items with just a few simple steps...
Gather your supplies. Here's what you'll need:
- Glue Gun Sealing Wax
- Sealing Stamp (Amazon has great initial stamps)
- Standard Glue Gun with Adjustable Temperature or Low Temperature Glue Gun
Set your glue gun to "low" if it is one that has an adjustable temperature setting and insert one of your wax sticks. Once it is heated, apply a nickel- to quarter-sized circle of glue onto the item you are sealing. It really doesn't take much, the glue spreads out quite a bit once you apply the stamp!
Apply the stamp directly on top of the liquid wax. If you want to be extra precise, you can make small lines with a sharpie on the sides of the stamp so you know exactly where to line it up. Don't be concerned if the wax spreads out unevenly, that's the handmade/artisan look you are going for! Let cool for 20-30 seconds.
Once the edges of the wax seal are hardened, lift up the stamp to reveal your wax seal!
